Are you curious to know why the Omega M-2 Negative Ion Massage Chair was awarded the #2 spot in our 1,000 to 2,000 dollar price range category? Well, let me give you the inside scoop.

The Omega M-2 Negative Ion Massage Chair is worthy of anyone’s interest; it is a great chair with great features. But the main feature that sets this chair apart is the negative ion bar. It’s not truly a bar per se, but more like a tube. This tube is located on your left when you sit down, and at the press of a button it starts to clean and enhance the air immediately around you (like being wrapped in a clean breath of fresh air). Just imagine yourself by the ocean or by a tropical waterfall breathing in the fresh crisp air, and you might get a sense of what the negative ion bar can do.

It creates a rise in the density of the oxygen around you, and this relieves stress, and enables your body to relax and rejuvenate so that you can more fully enjoy your massage. Pierce J. Howard, PhD, author of The Owner’s Manual for the Brain: Everyday Applications from Mind Brain Research and director of research at the Center for Applied Cognitive Sciences in Charlotte, N.C., said, “Negative ions increase the flow of oxygen to the brain; resulting in higher alertness, decreased drowsiness, and more mental energy.” Who knew that with a name like Negative Ion they could have such positive effects! Obviously, Omega does not guaranty any specific health benefits for this chair, but our customers sure like it.

While the negative ion feature is fantastic, this chair is still second to the Human Touch HT-103 Massage Chair. A big reason for this is the look, combined with the function of the Human Touch Massage Chair. I personally like the look of the Human Touch HT-103 better than the Omega M-2 Negative Ion, but that is a personal preference only and you have to choose for yourself. The look of the HT-103 is very sleek with the solid oak armrests and stylish black leather, which can also come in a lighter tan (another plus for the HT-103)! The option to hide the leg massage also makes this chair more attractive.

The functions for both the chairs are fairly similar but with slight differences that give the HT-103 an edge. For example the HT-103 has a Power Recline whereas the M-2 Negative Ion is a manual recline. In stroke length the HT-103 has the M-2 beat as well, sporting a 25.5 inches instead of a 24 inch stroke length. This can be a big factor based on your height. If you are tall, you will want longer stroke so that all of your back will receive a massage and not just your lower back. Of course, for a shorter person, extra inches are unnecessary, so I would suggest the shorter stroke for those of you that fit into this category. The price is higher for the Human Touch, though and this gives the M-2 Negative Ion Massage Chair a little more room to breathe. Also where the warranty is concerned the M-2 Negative Ion Massage Chair wins hands down. With its 5-year limited warranty, it stomps the HT-103’s short 90-day limited warranty.

So with its revolutionary negative ion feature, fine function and 5-year limited warranty the Omega M-2 Negative Ion Massage Chair lands itself in solid second place, (although that won’t matter if it’s #1 for you).
